Disciplinary Campaigns
A chronological index of University of Ottawa disciplinary campaigns against Denis Rancourt and their outcomes
These disciplinary campaigns were either formally initiated under the purview of Ontario labour law or were simply ad hoc.
Each discipline, once applied, can then be grieved, see Formal Grievances.

Discipline for using publicly available images from the uOttawa.ca web site on the UofOWatch blog that is critical of the University of Ottawa's top executive officers
- This ludicrous progressive discipline involved first a letter of reprimand (grieved HERE G-16) followed later (for continuing to refuse to take down the images) by a suspension without pay for one day, approved by the Board of Governors (BOG) (greived HERE G-19) (UofOWatch blog post about G-19).
- HERE is a UofOWatch blog post giving a review of the disciplinary foray against the UofOWatch blog
- HERE is the UofOWatch blog post about the discipline-by-suspension for not removing the publicly available images from the UofOWatch blog
- The full disciplinary campaign involved libel and defamation lawsuit threats: See THIS account on the UofOWatch blog
>>> See VIDEO about the Executive Committee of the BOG which took the decision on September 11, 2008, to suspend without allowing Denis Rancourt to be heard
OUTCOME: The grievances G-16 and G-19 remain to be heard. Professor Rancourt was ultimately fired. The CAUT is sponsoring an Independent Committee of Inquiry.COMMENT: The entire disciplinary adventure is a farce if "academic freedom" has any meaning in Canada.
